When You Find Something You Weren’t Looking For
Do you ever have those times when you are looking for something, you end up not finding it and discover something else from many years ago?
Recently this happened to me. I was taken a bit back as I found a poem from about 20 years ago that was given to me! And I am sharing this with you because to me it speaks about myofascial release and the idea of being able to let go and feel free.
“To laugh is to risk appearing the fool. To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach out is to risk involvement. To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self. To place your dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To live is to risk dying. To hope is to risk despair. To try is to risk failure.
But risk must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, they may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live. Chained by their attitudes, they are a slave, they have forfeited freedom. ONLY THE PERSON WHO RISKS IS FREE.”
~Leo F. Buscaglia
I read this poem a couple times in a row because throughout the past couple decades of my life I can relate to all this talk about risk or not risking. What about you, can you relate?
Risking is the path to freedom and gaining the ability feel free! And did you know that this is a huge part of myofascial release? Taking that risk to be honest with yourself. Being true to yourself about how you feel not just physically but also emotionally.
To risk is to let go, live and feel free!!!
