Calm Your Nerves
Learning how to soothe and calm your nervous system is crucial. Learning how to let go of excess tension you carry around allows you to understand what your body and feelings are trying to tell you. And in turn this makes it easier to follow messages your body gives you.
Many of us have a highly alert nervous system. This could be due to trauma, which many of us hold to some degree in our bodies, physical and/or emotional. With this said learning how to calm your nerves, as mentioned above, becomes very important!
One reason why I love and enjoy myofascial release so much is that the slow sustained pressure of each intentional technique works on bringing down and calming your nervous system. And as you work on tuning into your body, gaining more mind-body connection, and listening to messages it is telling you even more calmness is possible!!!
A self-treatment technique I enjoy that relaxes and soothes the body is working with the Vagus Nerve, which connects the brain and gut.
