I Give In…2023

Years ago, I met a young traveler in my home city San Francisco.  Emma is her name and at times I stumble upon her words while glimpsing at social media.  This month and to start off the new year I share some of her thoughts followed by mine.

From Emma's New Year post:

May I GIVE IN.

Give in... the unpredictable nature of the journey
Give in...my wild and hidden parts
Give in... shadow and light
Give in... what is right here, right now
Give in... not knowing
Give in... the great Mystery
Give in... Love.

Rumi said it better than me:

As you start to walk out on the way
The way appears.

As you cease to be,
True life begins.

As you grow smaller,
This world cannot contain you.

You will be shown a being
that has no you in it.

Giving in... walking out on the way...my way.... your way!
All very powerful.  A piece of this to me is also finding silence - finding stillness.  A huge and important part of myofascial release to me is finding that quiet within.  And allowing the quiet to become a sense of "I let go."
Sometimes that quiet brings joy, sometimes laughter, sometimes sadness, sometimes fear.  What helps me in this process is I usually find a key, maybe small and at times big, that allows an unlocking of a thought or an emotion or a desire which in turn helps continue the journey of walking the way to giving in and letting go.
May this year bring you much giving in and letting go of what you desire!
