Treat Yourself
July is already here and the year of perfect vision is nearly half way past. And boy what a year it has been so far!!! Lots of time for self-reflection and questioning where you stand. So, this month I have decided to just touch the tip of the iceberg, I know I know it's not cold outside, about self-treatment.
Some reflective statements I have for you are:
-What do you do to treat yourself?
-Are you satisfied with your knowledge of how to help yourself?
-Are you accomplishing what you'd like when you give yourself self-treatments?
-Do you notice improvements and/or feel better?
There are so many ways to help yourself and feel better. I am highly aware that everyone resonates with different techniques. So, your answers to the above questions might be vastly different from other people!!!
I mainly used myofascial release to treat myself as-well-as yoga and walking. I can tell you I am always improving my knowledge and because of this my accomplishments do help me feel better. I notice improvements and I do know that many of the shifts happening in my body are subtle. These changes are also slow moving and this helps create a longer lasting change plus a keen sense of awareness.
Next month's blog I will dive a bit deeper into how to help yourself with self myofascial release between hands on treatments. Remember, whatever type of treatment you do....nothing replaces the touch and timing of a skilled therapist.
